I am Ricardo Batarce from Chile, a lawyer from Universidad Adolfo Ibañez, where I was one of the top ten students in my cohort. My wife Muriel and I have recently had our first baby. I currently work as the Chief of Staff of Chile’s Finance Minister Rodrigo Valdés. In addition, I am a Board Member of the National Committee of Innovation and Entrepreneurship at CORFO, where we oversee programs like START-UPCHILE. In 2009, I began working with the Mayor Claudio Orrego, at the Municipality of Peñalolén, and besides being his Chief of Staff I led and coordinated the eradication of Chile’s most politically important slum, giving housing solutions for more than 1200 people. I assumed several senior responsibilities when he launched his presidential campaign in 2013, representing the Democracia Cristiana party. I also speak German fluently and I am especially interested in Public Management and Budget, State Modernization and Innovation.
